Two Clear Creek-Amana High School students…one 17 and the other 16…have been charged with carrying weapons on school property; that’s a Class D felony.
On Wednesday, Tiffin-area law enforcement conducted a K-9 training exercise at the school and the dogs smelled drugs in two vehicles in the parking lot. Searches revealed a handgun in each vehicle.
The 16- and 17-year olds were taken into custody and driven to the Linn County Juvenile Detention Center in Cedar Rapids.
In addition to the weapons charge, one of the teens was also charged with possession of a controlled substance.
