The Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity at the University of Northern Iowa will be hosting its first annual carnival event, Pikes Park, to benefit the Cedar Falls Fire Department on Saturday, April 28th from 11 AM until 3 PM.

The event will be hosted at Bender Field next to Bender Hall on the campus of UNI. The event will include: inflatables, games, and a dunk tank. Connor Kenney from 107.3 The Party will be broadcasting the event live.

Funds raised from the event will be donated to the Cedar Falls Fire Department to mitigate costs of installing more smoke detectors and batteries in homes at no cost to the homeowner. Additional funds will go towards further budgetary needs and other safety equipment.

“This event is a great way for our fraternity to give back to the city of Cedar Falls, as we are as much a part of this community as the UNI community. We are excited to give back to Cedar Falls Fire Department to benefit further safety within the community and a great community organization” adds Grant Tiarks, Philanthropy Chair for the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity.

“Community service is a big aspect of what our fraternity stands for and this is another way of saying thank you to the fire department for their hard work here in Cedar Falls.”

If inclement weather occurs, the event will take place on Saturday, April 28th from 11 AM to 3 PM in the West Gym at the University of Northern Iowa.
