On Saturday, March 3rd, Maucker Union at the University of Northern Iowa was covered in orange. UNI Dance Marathon started their long 12 hour day at noon to start a full day of fun, laughing, crying, games and dancing, all For The Kids.

For 12 hours straight over 1,100 students, faculty and community members would stand and listen to stories of hope, courage and lost, they would dance with the kiddos they call heroes, make new friendships and meet up with some old friends they've made over the past few years. That 12 hour day brought hope to the forefront. That 12 hour day made kiddos and families forget about reality for a moment. That 12 hour day was nothing short of amazing.

UNI Dance Marathon set out to raise $500,000 before midnight on March 3rd, 2018. This money, all going to the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital where they will use that money to purchase a new transport team. This transport team will allow a second helicopter and team to airlift children across all 99 counties in the state of Iowa back to the children's hospital to receive the best care they need for their best chance at having a childhood all children deserve.

$500,000 was UNI Dance Marathon's goal. A half a million dollars. A half a million miracles. That was their goal. An organization with over 1,100 students at the University of Northern Iowa said they can raise $500,000 for kiddos some many never met. They wanted to raise $500,000 out of the kindness of their hearts. They wanted to raise $500,000 for the most important reason of them all, and that is For The Kids.

$500,000 was the goal. The final amount raised and announced at the 7th Annual UNI Dance Marathon Big Event, $550,713.07. UNI Dance Marathon not only raised a Half A Million Miracles, they raised 550,713 miracles.

Congratulations to UNI Dance Marathon on reaching their goal and to everyone who donated, thank you. With your generous donation, you helped make over A Half A Million Miracles.
